Scenarios
Scenario 1: Michael John Smith
Michael works an eight-hour shift at his job in healthcare administration. He finds the tasks at work easy, but the workload can be heavy and, at times, stressful. To help combat the stress, Michael scrolls through TikTok and other social media platforms to. Michael follows content creators that reviews books since he is an avid reader.
When Michael gets home, he sorts through the mail and packages he received. Michael receives 1-2 books a week from various websites that sells books. Michael thinks about the book recommendations he heard on TikTok and decides to buy some of those books.
Michael sits at his desktop computer and pulls up various book selling websites. He types in the name of a book he heard a recommendation for into the search bar. Micheal reads the book summary and looks at the price, as well as the shipping options. Michael decides this is a good book to buy and puts it into the cart.
Michael then decides to spend more time browsing the website, looking for other books to buy. He looks up author names that he is familiar with, as well as new releases. After an hour of browsing, he has added two more books to his cart. Michael purchases the books he has added to the cart, paying with his credit card. Michael then spends the rest of his evening reading quietly at home.
Scenario 2: Melissa Emily Anderson
Melissa wakes up late in the morning and spends time browsing through social media on her phone. After an hour, she gets up and opens her laptop to study for her college classes. In the early afternoon, Melissa gets ready to go to work and places her Kindle inside her purse.
When Melissa arrives at work, she puts her purse in a locker, but keeps her Kindle and phone with her. She settles down at her desk and begins answering customer service calls. In between calls, Melissa reads books on her Kindle, or she browses the internet on her phone. After a few hours, Melissa has read 10 pages, and she decides to buy another book on her break.
Melissa uses her phone to pull up websites that sell books. In the search bar, Melissa uses the search bar to find her favorite author. After browsing for 10-15 minutes, Melissa puts one book into her cart, but she has to go back to work answering customer service calls. Melissa is unable to look at the website again until she gets home from work.
After Melissa gets home, she browses the online bookstore again, but after briefly looking at the price, she decided she cannot afford it and deletes her cart. Melissa spends the rest of the evening doing homework on her laptop and listening to music on her phone.
